PLACES HAVE PULSES

ANTIGUA & LAKE ATITLÁN

GUATEMALA

Guatemala, famed for its natural beauty, was my unexpected home for two months at the beginning of 2024. It was quite a turbulent time for me on a personal level, but I reconnected with my camera, so definitely had a huge silver lining.

These images centre around two places, Antigua, a small, cobble-streeted village nestled in the middle of active volcanoes mountains, and Lake Atitlan, a vast lake known for it's healing, spiritual energy with a series of communities that are peppered along its shoreline.

Both areas are by no means reflective of this country, for they are both flooded with tourists and their influence. However, these photos still pay testament to many of the beautiful things about this country and its people, be it in the beautiful embroidered dresses that the women wear, its natural beauty and spirituality, and the bohemian feeling that comes with the intermixing of cultures.
